The free sale of normal tickets for the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany begins at the beginning of October. UEFA has now announced the prices, which range from 30 to 2000 euros. The cards are sold in four categories.
On June 14, 2024, the German national team will open the home European Championships in Munich. There will be thousands of fans in the stadium. For the following 50 games of the planned second football summer fairytale until July 14th, with 24 nations to begin with, over a million tickets will be sold from October 3rd. How much do tickets for the European Championships cost in Germany?
The cheapest tickets cost 30 euros. For the group stage, a total of 270,000 tickets will be sold at this price in the “Fans First” category. The stadium visitors will be placed behind the goals in each of the ten host cities. The exception is the opening game for 50 euros in this category. From the round of 16 onwards it will be more expensive in all four categories. In the most expensive one, a normal group game ticket costs at least 200 euros, and in the final it costs 1,000 euros. More expensive premium options for more central seats can also be booked – these cost 2,000 euros for the final.
The prizes are staggered over the course of the tournament. As an example: In the second most expensive category, a ticket for the round of 16 costs 175 euros, in the cheaper category a ticket for the quarter-finals costs 100 euros. As usual, significantly more expensive hospitality packages are also available and are already available. Wheelchair spaces are available from 30 euros and the accompanying person comes along free of charge.
How many tickets will be sold?
In the first phase (October 3rd to 26th), 1.2 million tickets will be offered to fans, and after the group draw on December 2nd, a further million will be offered to fans of the qualified national teams from December 4th. Further phases will follow after the play-offs in March and shortly before the tournament in “last minute sales” as well as during the tournament for the knockout round.
How does the sale work?
The EM tickets are sold exclusively via the tournament’s website and digitally (euro2024.com). There are no paper tickets; according to Euro 2024 GmbH, this saves 550 kilometers of printed paper. Fans from 170 countries have pre-registered, most of them from Germany, followed by England, Spain, Scotland and France. If demand exceeds supply, a lottery is held.
Will there be standing room?
No. “We are not yet at the stage where we can implement this for a tournament,” said Martin Kallen, head of tournament organization at the European Football Union, about a corresponding test phase in the European Cup. He also referred to the structural challenges for two equal fan camps and safety concerns from the authorities. Fan representatives from Germany were “not enthusiastic” about this decision, but supported it.
Where is the game played?
There are ten venues for the European Championships. The games take place in Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich. The group phase runs from June 14th to 26th, the round of 16 games from June 29th to July 2nd. The quarter-finals will be played on July 5th and 6th, and the semi-finals will be played on July 9th and 10th. The final will be on July 14, 2024 in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
