End of course for Jessika Ponchet in Osaka, beaten by Ashlyn Krueger

The day after her first victory on the main circuit this season, Jessika Ponchet (26 years old) failed to continue and was eliminated in the second round of the WTA 250 tournament in Osaka, Japan. The 140th player in the world was beaten by the American Ashlyn Krueger (123rd) in two short sets (6-4, 6-1) and 1h23 of play.

The Bayonne native struggled too much on her own serve, where she only passed 58% of the first ball and was only able to win 35% of the points on her second. She conceded a total of 13 break points (4 converted by her opponent) and only got one (converted). There are now no more French women competing in the Japanese tournament.
