England dropped points against Ukraine for the first time

England dropped points for the first time in the European Championship qualification after four wins in a row. Ukraine won 1:1 (1:1) against the “Three Lions” on Saturday. In the game played in Wroclaw, Poland, Oleksandr Zinchenko (26th) brought the Eastern Europeans forward to the delight of the numerous Ukrainian fans. Kyle Walker (41st) equalized with his first goal in his 77th game after a long pass from Harry Kane for England but shortly before the break.

In the second half the English still had a chance to win when Bukayo Saka hit the crossbar. However, the Ukrainians fought for the point and remain the first pursuers of the league leaders with seven points from four games. Italy (three points) could not move up to second place even if they were successful in North Macedonia in the evening game.

Zinchenko brings outsiders to the front

After a dominant initial phase from the English, Zinchenko scored a beautifully scored goal for the underdogs. The goal was wildly celebrated by the home fans. Right-back Walker managed to respond after an advance, with Kane providing the assist in quarterback style almost from the halfway line.

For the English, the next game in the European Championship qualifiers is not scheduled until October. The Ukrainians have to play what could be a landmark away game in Italy next Tuesday.
