EDITORIAL BOARD – On Sunday 12th in Oristano the Under 14 team of US Garibaldi, already provincial champions, became regional champions by beating the same age groups from Oristano, Sassari and Cagliari in the regional finals.
The island team, led by Andrea Bargone, Giuseppe Manca and Stefania Chiscuzzu, has won all 20 matches played this season without giving up a single set, once again confirming itself as a point of reference for Sardinian volleyball.
Garibaldi’s players will now be called upon to represent La Maddalena and Sardinia in the national finals organized by the Italian Volleyball Federation in Cesena, scheduled from 28 May to 2 June.
“The company continues to focus on the youth sector, obtaining important responses every year. After last season’s regional success achieved with the under 13 group, this further affirmation fills us with pride and encourages us to invest more and more in the development of young athletes” comments President Alessio Bittu, while General Director Massimo Razzatu recalls “the victory – as undefeated – of our group with the Under 16s, who are also performing very well in the First Division championship and will play the first leg of the playoffs on Saturday against Silvio Pellico in Sassari, while the under 13s on Sunday in Perfugas will try to defend the title of provincial champion. To this list we would like to add Sassari’s success at the Trofeo dei Territori with 5 Garibaldi women called up”.
