Empowering Senior Citizens: Workshop to Combat Fake News and Strengthen Media Skills

In times of social media and digital communication, the spread of false information, so-called “fake news”, has become a serious problem. The workshop by the RUHRWERKSTATT educational organization is aimed specifically at senior citizens and offers them the opportunity to strengthen their media skills and arm themselves against the spread of fake news.
In addition to an introduction to the topic of “fake news,” various case studies will be analyzed and discussed in the workshop. Participants will learn how to verify sources and find trustworthy information. Practical tips are also given on how to protect yourself from the spread of fake news.
The workshop will take place on October 19th. and 26.10. from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can use your own smartphone or tablet. A rental device is also available.
