Emmeric Le Person Presents ‘African Judo’: Captivating Black and White Photographs Exhibition at La Bassine, Decazeville

La Bassine, 21 rue Clémenceau in Decazeville, has decided to put an artist in the spotlight each month. After the painter Jean Poujade, it is Emmeric Le Person who offers “African Judo”, a remarkable set of black and white photographs. Emmeric Le Person is a professional photographer and judoka. He covered behind the scenes of international competitions for 10 years until Covid. Living in the Basin, this black and white portraitist exhibits here a series on the soul of judo in Africa, based on a competition which took place in Tunis in 2018.

The photographer defines himself as follows: “I have always been a pioneer. I could qualify as an artistic and humanist photographer. And over time, it is obvious that I consider myself above all a citizen of the World.” This exhibition is visible until the end of September, from Monday to Friday, during the “Chez Charlotte et Agnès” snack and on Sunday, during the Antirhouille associative café.
