Draw for the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia: date, time and possible rivals of the Argentine team | Classifieds and the hype

FIFA confirmed that the draw for the U-17 World Cup that will take place in Indonesia from November 10 to December 2 will be this Friday, September 15. On that date, the Argentine team led by Diego Placente will meet the rivals in the group of a competition that until now has never been able to win in that category.

What will the U-17 World Cup draw be like?

The 24 qualified countries will enter a draw that will define the six groups with four selected each. There will be four pots and each team will be assigned to each one.

The selections were assigned to the bolilleros based on a points system referring to the performances in the last five editions of the Under 17 tournament, with five bonus points for each team that has gained access to the competition as champion of its confederation (Brazil in the South American case).

The four drums

Pot 1: Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, France, Spain and Japan. Pot 2: Germany, Mali, England, South Korea, Argentina and Ecuador. Pot 3: New Zealand, Iran, Senegal, United States, Uzbekistan and Morocco. Pot 4: Canada, New Caledonia, Panama, Venezuela, Poland and Burkina Faso.

The possible rivals of the Argentine team

It should be noted that, as host, Indonesia entered Pot 1 directly. Likewise, FIFA’s general principle is to ensure that there are no groups with teams from the same confederation.

For this reason, the Argentine team will not be able to share the zone with the South American representatives, which are Argentina and Ecuador (they share Pot 2), Venezuela and Brazil, which appear separated in other pots.

Under this premise, the cast led by Placente could share a group with Indonesia, Mexico, France, Spain or Japan from Pot 1.

From Pot 3, they could have New Zealand, Iran, Senegal, the United States, Uzbekistan and Morocco as rivals.

Finally, the third rival in the group will come from Canada, New Caledonia, Panama, Poland or Burkina Faso, who are in Pot 4.
