Canadian shooting guard and 2023 World Cup bronze medalist, Dillon Brooks, has been designated by FIBA as the Best Defensive Player of the tournament.
Brooks, the brand new signing of Ime Udoka’s Houston Rockets, has not only shone in the offensive department, as demonstrated by his 39 points against Team USA, but he has taken a step forward in terms of defensive duties, taking charge always keep an eye on the rival star.
He shone against Evan Fournier’s France; He was responsible for exasperating Luka Doncic, who could not finish his game and was expelled for a double technical; and against Team USA he has also more than fulfilled in the fight for third and fourth place.
In his 9 games played he has obtained figures of 15.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists with a spectacular 58.8% in triples. Furthermore, in the bronze match he completed a spectacular 7/8 attempts from long distance.
