The Spanish Daniela Guillén has been proclaimed runner-up in the Motocross World Championship this Sunday, becoming the first Spanish and the youngest to achieve it, completing an exceptional season in which she has been on the podium in all the Grand Prix.
The Motocross World Championship came to an end this Sunday with the Afyonkarahirar GP in Turkey, where the rider from Lloret de Mar certified their second place in the overall championship standings. At 17 years old, she has become the first Spaniard and the youngest to achieve it.
Guillén finished sixth in the test in Turkey in a weekend that was not easy, but thus certifying that ‘silver’ thanks to his 240 points. The New Zealander Courtney Duncan was proclaimed world champion, while the Dutchman Lotte Van Drunen completed the World Cup podium.
“We finished the last Grand Prix of the season in Turkey with very difficult conditions; I finished today’s leg, which was the objective to score points and finish runner-up in the world.
