Castors Bleus judokas shine at the Champions’ Route in Bar-le-Duc

JUDO. Wednesday September 20 and Thursday September 21, five judokas from the Castors Bleus du Bois-l’Abbesse section, licensed at JC Marnaval/Saint-Dizier, were present in Bar-le-Duc where the eleventh stage of the tour took place. ‘Champions’ Route, organized by the Meuse committee in collaboration with the French Judo Federation.

The Bragarde delegation was accompanied by its teacher Francis Clerget and a sports instructor from the structure. During the two days, children’s sessions were held for clubs, school sessions, a special para judo session as well as a conference on the theme “Why and how was France Olympic champion in Tokyo?” where Axel Clerget was honored. His parents, Francis and Agnès Clerget, present for the occasion, said they were “very moved to relive this great moment of happiness two years later”.

The Castors Bleus judokas were notably able to meet French champions such as Léa Fontaine, 2021 European vice-champion and 2022 French champion, Cyrille Maret, third at the Olympic Games in 2016, or even Cathy Arnaud, world champion in 1987 and 1989. “Two great days of promotion for French judo and local judo,” commented Francis Clerget. The twelfth stage will take place in Lens (Pas-de-Calais) on October 6 and 7.
