Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin Overcomes Cardiac Arrest: ‘Did We Win’ Documentary Chronicles Remarkable Recovery

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin will be the subject of a documentary in connection with the cardiac arrest he suffered during the January 2, 2023 game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

The feature film, which will be titled “Did We Win,” will focus on Hamlin’s recovery after he collapsed on the field after receiving a blow to the chest during Monday night’s game.

Producers filmed some scenes of Hamlin during hospital treatment, as well as his return to play and his involvement in the community of his hometown, Pittsburgh.

“Damar is a superhero. His impact and recovery in such a short time is extraordinary. I am honored that he and his family trusted us. Damar’s incredible story needed to be shared with the public and I am delighted to take this step with him into the realm of non-fiction,” said documentary producer Beau Flynn, whose words were quoted on the site. “Deadline.”

The 25-year-old athlete used his near-death experience as a platform to raise awareness about “commotio cordis,” one of the leading causes of death among young athletes, which occurs when a Cardiac arrest occurs after a blow to the chest.
