The calendar for the next season of the athletics Diamond League has been made official: the first two of the 14 stages will be held in China, in Xiamen and Shanghai, on 20 and 27 April, while the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea will take place in Rome on the 29th August, later than the traditional spring location. The finals are scheduled in Brussels on 13-14 September.
Three main blocks, with seven stops before the European Championships in Rome: starting from Xiamen in April, then Shanghai, Doha, Rabat, Eugene, Oslo and Stockholm on June 2nd. We start again in July for three more events before the Paris Olympics, with stops in the French capital and then in the Principality of Monaco and London. Then, once the Games are over, the season is completed between the end of August and mid-September with Lausanne, Silesia, Rome (13th and penultimate stage), Zurich and then the final in Brussels on 13-14 September. The capital of Belgium, with the Van Damme Memorial of the King Baudouin stadium, will return after five years to host the decisive matches and will crown the 32 winners of the “Diamond”.
