AlphaTauri extends Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda for the 2024 season

On the sidelines of the Japanese Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend, the AlphaTauri team announced that it had extended its two drivers, the Australian Daniel Ricciardo (34 years old) and the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (23 years old), for the next season. New Zealander Liam Lawson (21), the current reserve driver, will also be there in 2024, both for AlphaTauri but also Red Bull. For three Grand Prix, he has replaced Ricciardo, who suffered a broken hand.

“Liam has put himself in the F1 spotlight in just three races and I am very pleased that we can continue to prepare him for his future,” AlphaTauri boss Peter Bayer said in a statement. “After the progress we have already made and the plans for the future, it is an exciting time for the team. We are building and it’s a great feeling looking ahead to 2024,” Daniel Ricciardo said in the same press release.
