The initial euphoria after the 6-0 win against Morocco has long since evaporated in the German World Cup team. However, the national coach sees no drop in mood before the important South Korea game.

National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg is still satisfied with the atmosphere in the German national team at the World Cup despite the difficult situation.

“That’s why it’s not necessary to artificially play the clown during the break. We’re mostly in a good mood,” said the 55-year-old at the final press conference before the last group game against South Korea on Thursday (12:00 p.m. CEST/ZDF) in Brisbane, Australia.

Despite the 2-1 defeat against Colombia, the DFB selection can reach the round of 16 with a win, possibly even a draw is enough. “I can only emphasize it again and again: we have such a good relationship with us, we address things clearly, we address them critically, but we also address them factually,” said Voss-Tecklenburg. We win together, we lose together, and we take the next steps together.”

Before the end of the preliminary round, the German team is second in Group H with three points behind Colombia (six) and ahead of Morocco (also three). “We have to win now. I think that the pressure is always a bit necessary to get your performance up,” said midfield clearer Lena Oberdorf, emphasizing: “We from Wolfsburg know this situation from the Champions League. We go in there, we want to win and of course we want to go through to the round of 16.”
