VfB Stuttgart strengthens its midfield. As the Swabians announced on Friday, Angelo Stiller is moving from TSG Hoffenheim to VfB.

“We’re glad that we were able to sign such a highly talented player for our central midfield in Angelo Stiller,” says sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth about the transfer coup and emphasizes the importance of it: “With his signing we are taking an important step to to react to the transfers of the past few days.”
Most recently, the Stuttgart team had to cope with well-known departures (Konstantions Mavropanos to West Ham United and Wataru Endo to Liverpool FC) and now hope to make up for this loss of quality with the transfer of Stiller. “At the age of 22 he is already an established player in the Bundesliga and still has great potential for development.”

“When I first heard about the interest, it was immediately clear to me that I only wanted to go to VfB,” says Stiller, now looking forward to his new club, with whom he “wants to achieve a lot and I’m sure that we will be successful together in the years to come.”
Born in Munich, he went through the youth teams at FC Bayern before moving to TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2021, for whom he played 47 Bundesliga and four cup games. Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß knows the central midfielder very well, after all he worked with him both in the youth division of FC Bayern and later in Hoffenheim.
At the start of the season in Hoffenheim against Freiburg (1: 2), Stiller was still in the starting line-up for TSG. It was his last game. The 17-time German U-21 international signed a contract with VfB until June 30, 2027 and will wear shirt number 6 from now on. As a base fee, the Stuttgart transfer five million euros to Sinsheim, but this can increase to up to seven million with bonuses.
