The Valladolid City Council will launch a total of eleven sports courses for schoolchildren from October 2023 to May 2024, with the aim of offering schoolchildren in the city extracurricular sports activities not linked to a specific school, promoting the participation of minors in municipal school games.

Specifically, the sports courses will refer to the disciplines of badminton, baseball, fencing, rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, orienteering, paddle tennis, figure skating, speed skating, table tennis and shooting with arc, and they will be carried out again after one season, the last one, in which the total costs of the program amounted to 73,938 euros, with a coverage rate of 27.7 percent and a total of 262 places covered out of the 394 requested.

This was reported today by the Valladolid City Council, in a statement sent to Ical, after the approval, by the Extraordinary Commission of Government, Finance, Human Resources, Economic Promotion and Tourism, of this issue and others that were put on the table at the meeting held this morning.

Among them is the extension of the free public prices of municipal nursery schools for units from 1 to 2 years of age during the 2023-2024 school year, during school hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and which is subsidized by the Board of Castilla y León, which regulates that, within the gratuity, there are not early bird programs, the dining room and the afternoon service.

The price of the early bird service will be 20 euros per month in the municipal nursery schools of Valladolid, while enrollment in the units from 0 to 1 years will be 15 euros per month. For the subsidized units in the dining room and afternoon service, different quotas are established according to the income of the families, serving as reference modules the guaranteed income of citizenship and the Iprem, for which the quotas oscillate between 8.5 euros per month of the lowest incomes up to 80 euros per month of the highest incomes.

The monthly fee for non-free units, between 0 and 1 years old, is subject to the same variation and will range from 25 euros per month for the lowest incomes to 235 euros per month for the highest incomes.
