In the last edition, the Specialized Center for High Performance Judo of Valencia, in collaboration with the Valencian Federation of Judo and Associated Disciplines, held its first edition that was more than successful. This summer, the main novelty is the participation of the Cadet category so that the future promises of world judo will also be able to live and learn on an increasingly international campus.

Sugoi Uriarte, one of the promoters of this campus and CEAR judo coach highlighted: “Having 1000 judokas, including Olympic or world champions, is a real privilege for Valencian judo”. “For Valencian judo it is a real privilege to have Olympic, world and continental champions on our mat. Judo is an individual sport that is trained as a team and, therefore, it is very important to train with different people and styles. Here they will be able to train with the best in the world and learn alongside great judokas”.

“We are going to have more than 1,000 participants, with representation from almost 50 countries who will stay in residences near the Polytechnic University of Valencia, which is where the training will take place and they will also be able to enjoy the proximity of the beach and the benefits that our city offers”, commented the former Olympic judoka.

“Valencia is a benchmark in world judo, for results and for the judokas who train here. In addition, the climate, beaches, gastronomy and the city’s amenities make it even more attractive to come and train here,” he said.

The Valencia Judo Training Camp has been recognized by the Empren Esport 2023 Awards, from the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, within the ‘Reinforcement’ category, after the successful edition to celebrate last year, where it brought together more than 600 athletes.
