Valdez Academy Makes History as First Dominican Team to Win Perfect Game ’14 U’ Baseball Event

Santo Domingo.- The representation of the Valdez Academy, based in Haina 12 of the National District, became the first Dominican team to win a Perfect Game ´´14 U´´ baseball event, held in Fort Myers, United States.

The Dominicans remained as monarchs by leading the box in batting, most valuable player and pitching.

In the final match they defeated the West team, with a score of 19 laps for 8.

Of the best 15 players in the tournament, seven belong to the Creole team. The Dominican Ángel Pérez Mena was selected as the most valuable player, due to his outstanding participation with the wood.

Meanwhile, pitcher Yabel Castillo headed the main pitching and hitting departments of the youth tournament.

These two players were among the best 15 of the tournament, along with fellow Creoles Enmanuel Corona, Miguel Pérez, Diego Rojas, and José Leger.

´´We became the first Dominican team to win a Perfect Game event in Fort Myers, we have been here since 0 with these Kids working hard with everyone since they were 10 and 11 Years old! Today God has poured out his fruits. Of the top 15 best hitters in the tournament, seven belong to our academy and the number one is from us as well,” said Valdez.

The event was held in Fort Myers, Florida, in which teams from various countries and a total of 86 baseball players participated.
