House mice in the Neapolitan area, there are two new arrests by the carabinieri. The first in the municipality of Qualiano, in the north-western province. The second at the opposite pole, in the municipality of Santa Maria La Carità.
It starts from via Alcide De Gasperi in Qualiano. The carabinieri of the Giugliano mobile radio section in Campania are on patrol in the area. The night is quiet, the city half empty. There are few people around and the soldiers easily notice two people descending from the first floor of an apartment building.
They are dressed in black and both have baseball caps. In the reconstruction of the Arma, the two escape, because they would know they have been caught.
The blue flashing lights are getting closer and closer, behind them.
The carabinieri block one of the two, the one with the loot. The other manages to escape. It is Nicola Del Prete, a 40-year-old from Piscinola already known to the police. The objects stolen shortly before (almost exclusively jewels) were returned to the owner who was out of town at the time.
The 40-year-old was taken to prison, awaiting trial while the investigation continues for the accomplice.
More than 50 km away but still in the Neapolitan province, a soldier from the Naples Investigation Unit free from service is walking in Via Pioppelle with his wife and children. He is on leave but like him he recites a barracks adage “he never stops being a policeman”.
The trained eye and the habit of interpreting anomalies in the surrounding environment allow the officer to understand that the woman not far away has good intentions. Hers is a new face and she knows pretty much everyone in that area. The soldier says nothing to his family to avoid frightening them.
He walks away telling them that he has forgotten his cell phone in the car and lurks a few meters behind the young woman. She this she in a few seconds she forces the lock of the gate of a house and enters the house. The officer dials 112 and asks for the intervention of a patrol. The woman is still inside, she has no other way out.
And so the military and the carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia mobile radio section enter the house and block the young woman before she can escape. At her feet already some objects chosen to be taken away.
Giulia Jovanovic, a 31-year-old from Caserta already known to the police, is in handcuffs. She is now confined to the security room, waiting to tell the judge her version of the facts about her.
