Triathletes taking on the Seine

From Thursday to Sunday will be held in Paris the triathlon test events, dress rehearsal before the 2024 Olympics.

“The water quality is within the standards.” Wednesday morning, when Christophe Rosa, deputy general delegate for the Olympic and Paralympic Games for the city of Paris, confirmed the holding of the triathlon test events, the 210 athletes and para-athletes ready to dive into the Seine for this great dress rehearsal in view of the 2024 Olympics must have breathed a big sigh of relief. Two weeks after the fiasco of the cancellation of the open water swimming events due to downpours causing sewage to spill into the river and a spike in pollution, the waters have been declared swimmable again. “If we put aside the exceptional episode at the beginning of August, we find the trend observed throughout the last few months with satisfactory water quality for swimming”, assures the manager.
