The case is almost settled. According to our information, Stade Rennais and Nantes have agreed in recent hours for the loan with option to buy Matthis Abline. In lack of playing time in Brittany, the French international striker Espoirs gave priority to France and validated a transfer to the banks of the Loire. The purchase option amounts to just over 6 million euros.
The signing of the 20-year-old striker could take place on Friday, before Nantes-Monaco at the start of the third day of Ligue 1. Under contract with Rennes until 2025, Matthis Abline will first extend for an additional year with his training club, i.e. until 2026. Several other French clubs had positioned themselves to recruit him, in particular Brest and Metz.
