The Phoenix Suns’ season is over. The super team failed badly in the NBA playoffs and also lost the fourth meeting with the Timberwolves. In game four, the team from Arizona kept up with Minnesota for a long time, but in the end there was a 116:122 defeat for the superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

49 points from Booker (13/20 FG, 18/19 FT) and 33 points from Durant (12/17, 8 rebounds) couldn’t change that.

On the side of the third-seeded Wolves, it was Karl-Anthony Towns (28, 11/17, 10 rebounds) and Anthony Edwards (40, 13/23) who were unstoppable by the Suns. 16 points from Edwards came in the last quarter, in which Phoenix found no means against him.

KD raves: “I love everything about Ant”

Opponent Durant was accordingly impressed by Edwards after the final whistle. “I’m so impressed with him, so impressed. He is my favorite player to watch. He has grown so much since coming into the league. I love everything about Ant,” KD enthused at the post-game press conference.

The Suns once again made it clear how dependent they are on the stars. Aside from Durant and Booker, no Suns player scored in double figures. Beal was the third best scorer with his disappointing nine points (4/13, 6 TO). The Suns’ strategy of relying on the expensive star trio has failed resoundingly.
