The story of Sasha, a 15-year-old Ukrainian who fears joining the Army

In Ukraine, the president Zelensky, has denounced a new Russian air strike against a blood transfusion center. It has occurred in the Kharkov region, in the east of the country, and has left several dead and wounded.

Marcos Mendeza Mediaset reporter, was able to speak this week with a 15-year-old Ukrainian minor who has lived under the bombs and has become the protagonist of a video clip with millions of views.

Sasha’s story

Sasha, the protagonist of this story, is 15 years old. He lives in Nova Kakhovkaa village of Mykolaiv which was more than five months under Russian occupation. His story became famous this spring when the American group Imagine Dragons He recounted his life in a video clip, which in weeks has 10 million views. Sasha did not want to collect for work, he only asked for help to rebuild his village, which he teaches today.

The shelling was so intense that even the shelter was shaking. One of the boy’s biggest concerns is his school where unexploded mines remain. In September, children under 10 years of age will be able to study there.

Before the war, Sasha lived quietly, he did not have to work, he went to the beach and to concerts. This year will have nothing on vacation: “I have to take care of the house, help my parents and my grandmother.”

We asked him what he would say to young people his age in Spain. Suddenly everything I saw in the movies became real, even though in the movies the good guys live and the bad guys die. We asked Sasha her opinion about the future of this war: “My uncle is at the front and he tells me that if the counteroffensive continues like this, there should be a Peace Treaty, otherwise when I am 18 years old my uncle says that i have to join the army“.
