The History and Training Offered at Judo Club Brie: Emphasizing the Connection Between Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

At the judo club Brie, we like to talk about the origins and history of our martial arts, which is why Gérald Pagnoux, the club’s teacher for more than 10 years now, insists on the fact that we must above all not dissociate judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, they are complementary and have a common root: Japan and Jigoro Kano, who adapted age-old combat methods for educational purposes. This is why the club offers courses with standing combat and ground combat.

In Brie, adults practice judo / BJJ on Mondays and Wednesdays and a specific Brazilian jiu-jitsu course on Fridays between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Many exchanges are organized with other clubs and academies of judo and jiu-jitsu, to allow to meet other fighters and to progress.

The club welcomes beginners and experienced, in a benevolent atmosphere, where rigor, courage and modesty mingle so that practitioners flourish in their discipline and progress, while conveying the spirit of the club.

We also teach taïso training and taïso well-being to surpass ourselves physically and mentally. These courses are open to all and are adapted according to the level of each one.

Taïso training on Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Taïso well-being on Thursday from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Children also have their judo / BJJ lessons from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Saturday mornings from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. depending on their age.
