The 22-year-old quarterback joined forces with Adam Thielen during the first quarter. The wide receiver scored the middle finger after catching a 16-yard pass and just crossing the pay zone.

Young also stood out with his legs showing that he would be tough to tackle. On a streak early in the game, he made second-year defensive back James Houston look like a rookie.

The Panthers were nevertheless defeated 26 to 17 and did not sign any victory during this preparatory calendar. Corral, Andy Dalton and Jake Luton also got game time against the Lions.

On the Tennessee side, the New England Patriots played a horrible game against the Titans, getting just 79 yards in a 23-7 loss.

The local favorites joined quarterback Bailey Zappe four times for sacks, who completed just eight of 15 pass attempts for 57 yards. His substitutes Trace McSorley and Malik Cunningham also suffered one sack each.

This sequence also seems to show the extent of Zappe’s problems against the Titans.
