Fluminense ended the training period in the sand during the pre-season this Friday (04/08). Before completing the total transfer of technical training to the gym, the Volleyball Warriors competed in an indoor championship on the sand of Praia do Flamengo.

After physical training, the cast was divided into three teams of four athletes. With a qualifying phase, final and awards, excitement and competitiveness took over the space. The team formed by Juma, Vanessa Janke, Paula Mohr and Giovanna Farinazzo, an under-19 athlete who completed the team, was crowned champion.

The importance of the month with physical and technical training on the beach was highlighted by assistant coach Abel Martins, who leads the team while coach Guilherme Schmitz and assistant coach Marcelo Freitas, known as Dentinho, are with the Brazilian U-19 women’s team at the World Cup.

“This cycle on the beach was really cool and, above all, important. Doing it in the pre-season became Fluminense’s culture. We take a lot of things from here to the court, in those first training sessions we had in the gym we noticed an improvement in displacement, in addition to the good development of the physical part. We would like to thank CT Marcello Cândido for making the place available”, declared Abel.

“Training on sand makes a lot of difference, it’s another sport, and when we get to the court we feel much lighter. I think it’s very valid”, added the lifter Juma.
