This Friday morning a new edition of the Basketball World Cup begins, with the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia as venues for the event. The contest that brings together the 32 best basket-maker teams in the world will look for a champion after Spain was crowned the monarch four years ago.
An edition that will have a great absence: Argentina. The runner-up in the world in the previous edition, was left out of the contest after failing to earn a place in the American qualifiers. The Dominican Republic got them out of the way in the last game, played on trans-Andean soil.

Josh Giddey (Australia), Bogdan Bogdanovic (Serbia), Dennis Schroder and Franz Wagner (Germany), Jordan Clarkson (Philippines) or Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier (France) will also be there. All of them will give competitiveness to a tournament where the United States has the mission of recovering the crown.
