Telekom Baskets Bonn Suffers Another Loss as Key Player Javontae Hawkins Departs

After winning the Champions League and the runner-up position, Telekom Baskets Bonn lost another top performer. US professional Javontae Hawkins (29) is leaving the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club, the Bonn-based company announced on Wednesday.

Hawkins is the 13th player to leave Telekom Baskets after the club’s most successful season. Previously, BBL-MVP TJ Shorts, Sebastian Herrera, Michael Kessens, Leon scratches, Collin Malcolm and Tyson Ward had joined Paris Basket together with coach Tuomas Iisalo.

As the last professional for the guard rotation, Bonn brought in the American Glynn Watson. The 26-year-old comes from Lithuanian semi-finalists CBet Jonava and has signed a one-year contract.
