Tallon Griekspoor is playing for his third career title today

Who will be the successor to Nick Kyrgios (yes, he actually won the title in Washington last year)? Going head-to-head, the dice should fall more in Daniel Evans’ direction. Because Evans has won the two previous meetings with Tallon Griekspoor. According to the current form, Dutchman Griekspoor could be a little ahead.

The two-time tournament champion of this season (in Pune and at the home tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch) ended Taylor Fritz’s run in the semifinals of the ATP Tour 500 tournament in the US capital. The American, who was seeded first, had won the event in Atlanta last week, but was now beaten by Griekspoor 6:3, 3:6 and 2:6.

Evans, on the other hand, was no slouch against Grigor Dimitrov and won against the Bulgarian 6: 3 and 7: 6 (4). For the 33-year-old Briton it is about the second championship of his career. He got the first one in early 2021 at a 250 in Melbourne.
