Šteinberga and Leimani are removed from the Latvian basketball team

On Wednesday, Latvian basketball players defeated the Finnish national team with a score of 94:57 in the last test match at home.

Already on Thursday evening, the Latvian basketball players will start their journey from Riga to Taiwan, where they will play two more test matches before going to Jakarta.

Timma, Leimanis and Šteinbergs were left out of the Latvian team, but Dāvis Bertāns, who watched the previous games from the sidelines, was included in the 13-player squad. Kristaps Porziņgis announced on Tuesday that he will not help the Latvian national team in the World Cup final due to an injury.

Meanwhile, the Finnish national team did not have the brightest star Lauri Markanen, who needs rest.

In the first three test matches, Latvia defeated Sweden with 87:77, the national team of Georgia with 82:57 and the Dominican Republic with 74:69.

After the match against Finland on Wednesday, the Latvian national team has two more matches in Taiwan before the World Cup finals, meeting with Puerto Rico (August 20) and Lithuania (August 22).

The final tournament of the World Cup will be held in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines from August 25 to September 10. The Latvian national team will play the subgroup matches against France, Canada and Lebanon in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
