Sportdeutschland.TV Secures Broadcasting Rights for US Open 2023

The US Open is the last of the four Grand Slam tournaments of each tennis year. This year they will take place from August 28th to September 10th. There will be an innovation in TV broadcasting in 2023: Eurosport, which had broadcast the tournament for German television audiences for years, was no longer involved in the most recent assignment of rights. You can find out where the US Open will be shown instead here.

Sportdeutschland.TV will broadcast the US Open live

Instead of Eurosport, the streaming provider Sportdeutschland.TV has secured the broadcasting rights to the US Open for the German market this year. There will therefore be no transmission on linear TV in 2023. So far there have always been many games on free TV, but this year most of the content will only be available for payment.

If you want to see all the content for the US Open, the best price is the “All Access Ticket”, which normally costs 25 euros. If you order it by August 27th, you only pay 20 euros. Sportdeutschland.TV sells a day ticket for 10 euros per competition day. Single game broadcasts cost 5 euros each.

US Open on free TV? This content is free for fans to see

There will not be a broadcast of the US Open on classic free TV, but there is at least some content to be seen in the free live stream or on demand. Sportdeutschland.TV is offering the qualifying matches, which will start on August 22nd, free of charge. In addition, a live conference, the doubles matches up to and including the quarterfinals, as well as the mixed, junior and wheelchair tennis competitions will be shown free of charge.

According to Sportdeutschland.TV, in addition to the free live streams, there will also be some on-demand content free of charge. On the one hand, there are highlight clips and interviews. On the other hand, all individual games will also be available as a relive on demand from about 48 hours after the end of the game.

Who is commenting on the US Open on Sportdeutschland.TV?

The only commentator is Nicky Geuer.
