Rubén Domínguez, one of the great young talents of Spanish basketball, renews his relationship with Movistar Estudiantes, with whom he signs until 2025, but will leave on loan. Next season the foreigner will play on loan at Amics Castelló, from LEB Oro. This was explained by the collegiate club in a statement:
Rubén Domínguez (guard, 1.97m, 2003, Puerto Real) and Movistar Estudiantes have reached an agreement to extend his contract until the 2024-25 season.
Rubén Domínguez arrived at the Movistar Estudiantes youth academy in the cadet category in the summer of 2019, he has always played a prominent role in the club’s training categories, being a fundamental part of the reserve team’s promotion to LEB Plata in the 2020-21 season. In that season he also made his debut in the Endesa League against Barcelona. During the last two seasons he has been part of the LEB Oro squad, in this past 2022-23 he played a total of 32 games, with averages of 12.3 minutes, 5.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 4.3 valuation.
In addition, Rubén has been part of the U20 team that has been ranked tenth in Europe, averaging 12.1 points and a PIR of 9 in 21.7 minutes played.
Loan until end of season
After his renewal, the young shooting guard will continue training as a player at Amics Castelló on loan this season. This loan will be an important step in the guard’s training and from Movistar Estudiantes we want to wish Rubén good luck in his new stage.
