Spalletti, Italy coach in dispute against Napoli: a year of poisons and conspiracy awaits us

Scenario number one: crucial match for the race scudettoa defender of the Napoli barely touches the attacking opponent, the referee after a long consultation at Was awards the penalty that decides the match. So likely that it practically already happened on the first day of the championship, with the penalty whistled at Cajusteand thank goodness that in this case it was clear enough to clear the field of controversy (not entirely: among the fans there are already those who are moaning about the penalty), but anyway the opportunity for a case with all the trappings is only postponed. Scenario n. 2: 12 September, San Siro, the new one Italia Of Spalletti face theUkraine but can not count on by Lorenzo e Raspadorikept at home by Napoli for gods light injuriesand loses the decisive challenge to go to the Europeans. Definitely less likely, in fact we all hope it never happens. The exercise of imagination (not even too much) however serves to understand in what trouble the FederCalcioSpalletti, Napoli and basically all of us have kicked ourselves out: a season of football awaits us poisons e conspiracy.

You can have a coach of the national team, the man who must lead the team that represents an entire country, in cause against one of the main clubs in the country and champion of Italy? Without going into the merits of responsibility (this is yet another speech), it is such a situation inopportuneto lend the side to an infinite series of speculations, suspects, controversy. And we are certain that we in Italy will not miss even one. Let’s say it clearly: we at conspiracy theories we do not believe and we will never believe. It is delusional to think that an arbitration against, or an insufficient performance could depend on the dispute that there will probably be (everything suggests that it will go like this, given the words established with an official statement from Of Lawrence and Spalletti’s signing with the FIGC that has already taken place), but he’s only off the field and he’ll stay there. However, since Italy is the homeland of conspiracy theories, and Naples probably the world capital of victimhood, we are sure that someone else will bite the hook of gossips. Every wrong whistle, every political decision in the palazzo (we remind you that between De Laurentiis and the Federation there is also the delicate issue of the timeshare of the Baria case now unique in the Italian football system), every play by the Neapolitans in the blue shirt risks being seen with the eyes of suspicion, if a conciliation cannot be found.

As usual in these cases, everyone and nobody is to blame. There Figc should have avoided the confrontation, but cornered by the escape of Mancini he had no time or margins, he had to tear. De Laurentiis, on his behalf, is right: as he explained, he only asks for the respect of the agreed agreements. Yet his intransigence, more than out of principle or for money, seems like a personal spite against Spalletti, also because we don’t think the Napoli patron was so allergic to compromises a couple of years ago, when the extension launched by the FIGC of Gravina it allowed him to continue to maintain control of Bari. What is certain is that this heavy climate is not good for anyone. Certainly not to the Football Federation, but not even to De Laurentiis who with a little common sense could have obtained a big credit in the building, killing the classic two birds with one stone (after all, the FIGC did him a favor: it’s better for him a Spalletti on the national team bench and perhaps on that of Juventus in a year).

And then, obviously, of the person concerned. After Mancini’s farewell, Spalletti was to arrive with the aura of savior of the country, a transversal consensus and support, which if it certainly exists from a professional point of view (no doubt that it is the best profile), could in the long run become yet another cause of division for our system. Almost to wonder who made him do it, with one historic championship on the chest of which he was the architect under discussion, to take on a national team at the rags instead of waiting for a big call that from Italy or perhaps even from abroad would certainly have arrived. Perhaps for fear of staying still and not finding any free bench in a year, or, we like to think, simply because bringing your country’s national team to the World Cup it is a dream that is worth more than any rational consideration. Good luck, we’ll need it.
