The achievements of private-public diplomacy between South Chungcheong Province and Sichuan Province, China, which are celebrating their 5th anniversary this year, are appearing one after another.
The province announced that it would send a university badminton team to Sichuan Province from the 11th to the 17th to have joint training and friendly matches.
This exchange is part of the strengthening of private exchanges promised with Sichuan Governor Huang Qiang when Governor Kim Tae-heum visited Sichuan last June, and is the first step in promoting sports exchanges between the two regions.
For this sports exchange, the province dispatched Baekseok University’s badminton team, which has a national reputation beyond the region, and conducts joint technical training, friendship games, and exchanges of leaders with the badminton team of Sichuan Sports Vocational University.
The training and friendly matches decided to use the facilities of the Chengdu World University Games, which closed on the 8th, to increase the effectiveness and satisfaction of training.
