Sinner’s Masters Victory Sets Stage for US Open Success: The Rise of the Carota Boys

When Jannik Sinner won his biggest title to date, the “Carota Boys” sailed somewhere relaxed across the sea. The South Tyrolean’s crazy fan club couldn’t celebrate the 21-year-old’s first Masters victory in Toronto.

At the really big events like the US Open (from August 28th), the carrots that have become human are usually there – and Sinner is more than ever among the title contenders in New York.

For the former ski racer, who is sponsored by luxury label Gucci, the triumph was a milestone and a confirmation of his path towards the top.

“It means a lot to me,” said Sinner: “This result gives us a good feeling, makes us stronger and hungry to work even harder in the future.”

Sinner: “I’m satisfied with how I mastered the situation”

The facts underscore its development. Last year, Sinner already played an amazing quarter-final at the US Open against eventual tournament champion Carlos Alcaraz, who sees him as his main rival for the coming years.

This season followed in Wimbledon Sinner’s first Grand Slam semi-final – and now the Master’s triumph, which further advances him mentally.

“I felt the pressure but dealt with it very well. I tried to play point by point and I’m happy with how I managed the situation,” said Sinner, who cheered rather quietly.

Other major trophies are likely to follow. And the “Carota Boys” should better book for New York if they haven’t already done so.
