The Czech central defender comes from “FC Arbeitsamt”. Last season he played for England’s second division side Bristol, but was not a regular due to a groin injury (only eight appearances).
Because of the training backlog, Kalas (contract until 2025) can only help against Magdeburg (16 September) at the earliest.

Hechelmann agrees with the Volendam left-back and wants to transfer around 750,000 euros. But the Dutch first division club is demanding over one million euros – there are still tough negotiations.
Murkin is in full rhythm and would be a real alternative if an agreement were reached in Wehen Wiesbaden (2.9.).
Hechelmann to BILD: “We want more quality and more competition on the defensive.” On the other hand, he will most likely not get an offensive reinforcement.
Is that enough to start a race to catch up that is already necessary? Hechelmann: “We still have full confidence in the squad, but we also have clear expectations of the team and the coaching staff. In labor they need to show again that they can win games.”
