The Province of Santiago del Estero is the headquarters of the Americas for the Olympic Prequalifier that takes place from August 14 to 20.
In this way, the cities of Santiago del Estero and La Banda receive the tournament that will host the national team directed by Pablo Prigioni and will put a ticket to next year’s Olympic playoffs at stake.

The groups
The matches are played at the Ciudad Stadium (Santiago del Estero) and the Vicente Rosales (La Banda).
Argentina shares Group A with Cuba and the Bahamas. While Group B is made up of Uruguay, Virgin Islands, Chile and Colombia.
The tournament
The first two of each group will qualify for the semifinals. Then, the winner of this Olympic Prequalifier will get a ticket to one of the four FIBA Olympic Qualifiers to be held from July 2 to 7, 2024.
Next year’s Olympic Qualifier will be held in four venue zones of six teams each, awarding the winner of each one a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
