Sebastian Robledo is 27 years old. 8 years ago he fell from a 15 meter bridge and was left in a wheelchair. Since 2021 he has competed in parabadminton and has now qualified to participate in the Pan American Games that will be held in Santiago de Chile between November 17 and 26.

With the help of entrepreneurs from the city, the athlete is holding a raffle with the aim of raising funds that will cover the cost of purchasing two carbon wheels to place on the chair.

The value of the wheels was around $800, and the purchase was made with borrowed money. “I have to try to recover to repay the money,” he explained in dialogue with El Chorrillero.

Sebastian Robleto does not receive official support “because the coach’s contract was not renewed at the Palacio de los Deportes.”

“I submitted files, but received no response. I have to try to find it myself, because if I don’t plan, I can’t fulfill my dream, ”she added.

“It is the first time that an athlete from Argentina has classified in a tournament of such magnitude,” he explained and stated that the opponents of the adapted sport “are players who have been around for years and have total skill.”

“Since my path is recent, it is a very important event for me in the discipline,” he concluded.

The objective of para badminton is to hit a projectile called a shuttlecock, with a light racket, that passes over a net and falls into the opponent’s sector.

To collaborate you can do it through the Facebook account Badminton Mercedes or through your personal account Sebastián Robledo. The value of the number is $500 and it will be raffled on September 5 by the National Night Lottery.
