I would like to express my sincerest apologies to all of you regarding the fact that some blocks opposite the benches of the Japanese men’s national team became vacant during the match between Japan and Germany in the FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup 2023 held on Friday, August 25. Regarding this matter, as announced by the organizer, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), it was an event that occurred mainly in the ticket area purchased by multiple companies, but FIBA ​​reconfirmed and adjusted the ticket operation. We, the Japan Basketball Association and the Japan Organizing Committee, have been cooperating as much as possible with regard to such matters, and have made efforts to deal with them by opening some of the unused tickets to the general public (sales) after consultation and coordination with FIBA. As a result, in yesterday’s match between Japan and Finland, we were able to receive even more support for the Japanese national team than in the match against Germany, and we are grateful that this led to Japan’s victory.

After the match against Australia scheduled for tomorrow, the 29th (Tuesday), we will continue to check the operation of the relevant tickets with FIBA, and if it is determined that it is possible to open (sale) to the general public, we will release official tournament tickets.
