VARESE – Pallacanestro Varese created “Varese Green Basketball”. The project, thanks to the support of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Varese, will have the primary objective of minimize the environmental impact in order to achieve carbon neutralityactivating concrete, social, educational and ethical actions, taking charge of one’s own climate footprint and choosing to make one’s activities non-impactful towards the climate.

We want to be environmentally responsible in all areas of our business, using resources efficiently to reduce the organisation’s environmental footprint. Therefore, the task of Pallacanestro Varese Green will be to emphasize and practice sustainability through concrete actions such as reducing emissions, reforestation, energy efficiency and much more, thanks to our Green Partners and our fans who will help us advance and promote environmental, financial and ultimately social sustainability throughout the region and in the wider basketball ecosystem. This is why we proudly affirm and promise that every day we will strive to have an educational and evocative function towards our planet, because we must do our part to protect the places where we live, work and play. The objectives related to environmental sustainability are achieved with concrete actions and with a good example, not just with slogans. The path towards sustainability must be shared as much as possible in order to be effective and lead to concrete results. The Pallacanestro Varese Green initiative goes in this direction, addressing all aspects of environmental, economic and social sustainability with educational and awareness-raising actions that aim to involve students, fans and citizens. As an Administration there are many actions already undertaken and underway on this front and many collaborations and projects in the city already shared with organizations and institutions in the field of sustainability. It will therefore be a further step to create a network also with Pallacanestro Varese in all those actions that aim to develop our city in the direction of greater environmental sustainability and citizen awareness.
