In the past 12 months (September 2022 to August 2023), Djokovic has earned an estimated $38.4 million, ranking at the top of tennis’ earnings kings. The financial magazine reports Forbes.

“Only” 13.4 million US dollars come from tournament prize money, 25 million from advertising partners, entrance fees, merchandising and Co. Djokovic has earned a total of around 510 million US dollars over the course of his career.

Shooting star Carlos Alcaraz is listed at 31.4 million US dollars, just behind Djoker. Iga Swiatek, the first female tennis player, came in third place – the Pole earned 22.4 million US dollars. Last year she was outside the top ten in terms of earnings.

Emma Raducanu (despite her long injury breaks) and Naomi Osaka (despite having a baby) also remain in the top 10.

The Federer and Williams kink

As a top earner, however, Djokovic is far from the dimensions of Roger Federer. He had broken the 100 million dollar mark two years ago and also earned 95 million last year (although only his farewell at the Laver Cup was on the active list) – thanks to his sponsors.

In total, the ten highest-earning tennis players have earned around 196 million US dollars since the last US Open.

That still means a minus of 38 percent compared to the same period last year. The reason: the resignation of Federer (who is no longer counted as a tennis player) and Serena Williams. The two together bagged $125 million in the 2022 list.
