Chilean journalist Jose Tomas Fernandez Pumarino has reported that Alexis Sanchez may be the new FC Barcelona player. The 34-year-old played for the Catalan club from 2011 to 2014, winning the Spanish Championship in the 2011/12 season. In total, he played as many as 141 matches for the club, scored 46 goals and made 37 assists. He came from Udinese Calcio for €26m and left for €42.5m to Arsenal where he became a Premier League star.
Sanchez went on to play for Manchester United and Inter Milan before spending last year with Olympique de Marseille. In France, he did a great job, scoring 18 goals and three assists in 44 matches. His contract expired and the Chilean has been without a club since July 1.
“Barcelona and representatives of Alexis Sanchez will meet this Friday to check the feasibility of signing the deal,” Fernandez Pumarino said. The club authorities are supposed to favor the player due to the fact that you do not have to pay for him to another club, and also due to his acquaintance with Xavi.
