The best player in the history of US football has invested in the English 2nd division club.

The best player in the history of American football (NFL) Tom Brady has entered the capital of the English football club Birmingham (2nd division), the club and the former player announced Thursday on their social networks.

«Here we go! (Here we are !). I couldn’t be more excited to be part of the Blues family.“wrote Tom Brady. “It’s a city and a club on the rise and I can’t wait to discover the atmosphere of St. Andrew’s (the stadium where the team plays, editor’s note)».

Birmingham finished 17th in the Championship last season, after another difficult season and a long struggle to maintain it.

«It’s been a long road for Birmingham, but these fans never stopped believing“said the man with seven coronations during the Superbowl. “We have a song that says ‘no matter what, keep going’. I’ll be on this road with you».

Birmingham enters the new season under new ownership, the American company Shelby Companies Limited (SCL), a subsidiary of Knighthead Capital Management, whose takeover ended sixteen years of Chinese ownership of the club.

A press release from Knighthead also states that Brady “become chair of the new advisory board, reporting directly to the club’s board of directors and members of the club’s leadership team».

Brady hopes to experience similar success to that of the Wrexham club, bought two and a half years ago by American actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The progress of the club, which will return to professional football this season, after ensuring its rise in English League Two (D4), has been captured in a successful documentary series.
