The novel between Chris Jones and the Chiefs extends
The Kansas City Chiefs will be without season-starting DT Chris Jones, their best defensive player.
According to various reports, the veteran was placed on the unreported list/reserve because he is in a contract dispute with the team. Jones put a limit on his strike until week 8, since he will be able to play enough to be a free agent next year, but in turn will press for a contract extension.

According to James Palmer of NFL Media“there is no movement” between both parties that indicates an imminent agreement.
If Jones misses seven games this year, he will be denied $7.5 million and face fines of more than $2 million. For the Chiefs, though, there’s one good thing: He won’t count toward the salary cap, and his $19.5 million in base salary won’t affect them by keeping him on this list.
As a containment measure, the team traded with the Raiders by DT Neil Farrell.

After it was reported that if they didn’t trade him by Aug. 29, they wouldn’t trade him afterward, the Colts kept RB Jonathan Taylor, ending any move this year.
At the same time, the team placed him on the PUP list that will keep him out of action for at least the first four weeks of the season. Should they unexpectedly change their minds and send you to another team, you will still not be able to leave this list and will remain outside of your new team’s activities.

Isaac Alarcón’s future in the NFL today hangs by a thread
Offensive-turned-defensive lineman Isaac Alarcón of Mexico didn’t make the cut to make the 53-man roster for the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.
At 23 years of age, the lineman came to the NFL in 2020 as a player of the program International Pathway that allowed him to be on the team with one roster exception, but this year that ended and a tough decision had to be made.
Carlos Nava of ESPN reported that he will have to submit to the waivers process, where any of the other 31 teams could claim it in the next 24 hours. If not, he may be available for a return to Dallas.
In the franchise environment there is optimism about his development, especially now that they see him more comfortable as a defensive lineman, and that also gives the feeling that he could return, even if it is to the practice squad.
“It’s going to be a factor for us,” Quinn said after the last mandatory minicamp practice, via ESPN.com. “I love the talent of him, the size, the strength of him and he is very tough mentally.”
McCarthy, who agreed with his transition, had this to say:

Christian Wilkins returns to training, but maintains dispute with Dolphins
The Dolphins received two news: one good and one bad. The good news, they welcomed DT Christian Wilkins back to their training sessions; The bad news is that he is still in dispute over his contract.

Matthew Slater said he was surprised by Bailey Zappe’s haircut

Despite the firing, the Patriots could bring the player back for their practice squad, however, he must first go through waivers and not be claimed by another team. Given that he started a couple of games last year, other teams may be looking for him.
Even with the QB competition clearly in favor of QB Mac Jones, some still believed that he was the best option for the team long-term.
