Even though he is already intensively preparing for the Dakar Rally in January, he still finds time to invent new tricks. Motocross racer Libor Podmol demonstrated one of these on his Dakar machine in Vlašim, where two thousand fans arrived. In addition, he introduced a new pump park here.
He named the new trick, during which he performed a somersault on the motorcycle, the backflip navigation tower click. “I wanted to show the home audience something that no one in the world had done before me. That’s how I like it. I tried the classic FMX backflip heelclicker trick, but the nav tower always failed me. In the end, I actually thought it was even cooler, so instead of clapping my heels against the navigation tower, I named it backflip navigation tower click,Podmol smiled.
For the first time, the team of the famous freestyle motocrosser built two jumps, so that the riders could fly at a height of ten meters next to each other and perform synchronized tricks. In addition to Libor Podmol, his younger brother Filip also arrived, who returned from Mexico, where he participated in the X-Pilots series races. There were also tricks on scooters performed by local champion Maty Pekárek and three-time world champion Richard Zelinka. Tomáš Zejda, Teodor Kováč, Vilibald Vítek and Zdeněk Pešek showed up again on the bikes, who impressed with a double somersault forward during the Best Trick competition.
Podmol and the mayor Vlašim Luďek Jeništa then together cut the ribbon from the new pump station, in which the city invested 5 million crowns. “We now have a place where we can raise, for example, an Olympic champion,” declared a satisfied Libor Podmol.
