The basketball Bundesliga season doesn’t start until the end of September, but some fans are already looking forward to the schedule. It is not supposed to be officially published until the end of this week, but according to information from our newspaper, the first games of the MHP giants Ludwigsburg are already certain, so that there should be a certain planning security:
The opening game at home in the MHP Arena on September 29 against the Veolia Towers Hamburg was already known. Added to this are the matches against runners-up Telekom Baskets Bonn on October 21st (the same opponents were also played in the round of 16 of the cup the previous weekend!) and against Rostock on November 5th. In between, away games are scheduled for October 2nd and 6th. The fans will then have to wait until November 26 for the third home game – against Alba Berlin.
Training for the giants starts on August 18th, by then the last remaining foreigner position should be filled so that the coaching team around head coach Josh King has optimal preparation with a complete squad. There are also a lot of test matches, some of which are top-class, for example against champions Ratiopharm Ulm or the old rivals Tigers Tübingen, albeit closed to the public. An exception is traditionally the official Porsche season opening on September 9 against the Danish club Bakken Bears, where all of the giants’ junior teams will also present themselves.
The Bundesliga season 2023/24 will open on September 27th with the game of champion Ratiopharm Ulm against Chemnitz, one day later on Thursday promoted Tigers Tübingen will start the round at runner-up Telekom Baskets Bonn.
