Major League Baseball unveiled its playoff schedule on Tuesday, and once again it kicks off with best-of-three playoffs beginning Oct. 3 through the World Series on Oct. 27. .
The best-of-five Divisional Series will begin on October 7, while the American League Championship Series – best-of-seven – will begin on October 15 and the National League the following day.
Last season, Major League Baseball changed its playoff format by increasing the number of participating teams in each league to six. The top division champions in each league will still enjoy a bye to the divisional playoffs.
