The star and captain of the Slovenian team, Luka Doncic, gave an exhibition on Tuesday in a preparatory match for the 2023 World Cup against Montenegro in which the Dallas Mavericks player finished with 34 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists in 33 minutes to sign his second triple-double this summer.
The Real Madrid homegrown point guard shone against the selection of the Chicago Bulls player, Nikola Vucevic. He signed a great game with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Doncic’s offensive dominance easily overcame the Montenegrin defense, and even he ended up scoring two very distant three-pointers at the buzzer in two of the quarters.
Sekulic’s team prepares for the debut of the Slovenian team in the World Cup competition in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan which begins on August 25.
Slovenia is one of the guests at the Centenary Tournament of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) together with the USA, and will play against Spain and the Americans this Friday and Saturday at the Martin Carpena in Malaga.
