Lorient-Nice ends in a 1-1 draw, while Le Havre-Brest and Reims-Clermont see decisive victories

Lorient-Nice: 1-1

Lorient and Nice failed to decide this Sunday at the Stade du Moustoir (1-1). The two teams engaged in a lively match, without either of them taking over the other. No decision was made in the first period, during which both teams wanted to develop their game, without getting any clear chances. The Niçois still occupied the field better but were not successful, like Gaëtan Laborde who missed Mvogo’s frame with a header (5th) then from a free kick (45th + 1) in the first period.

During the resumption, the Aiglons made the Merlus crack after having multiplied the offensive assaults. Evann Guessand – who replaced Terem Moffi in the starting lineup – managed to give Nice the advantage in the confusion, Mvogo claiming a foul from Rosario on the corner which brought the goal (64th). Sirine Doucouré answered him for Lorient ten minutes later (77th).

The match came alive after the Lorient equaliser, the two teams giving space to the opposing attackers but no one was able to tell the difference and Merlus and Aiglons finally shared the points. This is their second draw in two matches after that of Nice conceded against Lille (1-1) and that of Lorient against PSG (0-0). Bamba Dieng is out, hit in the adductors.

Le Havre-Brest: 1-2

The only team to have won its first two matches, before the matches in Strasbourg, Monaco and Rennes, Stade Brestois temporarily takes the lead in the Championship after two days. If Le Havre held the ball at the start of the match at Stade Océane, Brest was sharp during quick attacks and managed to make the difference (2-1).

Half an hour into the game, Del Castillo found himself alone to the right of the area after a tumble from Locko on the left. Well served, the Brest number 10 left no chance for Desmas, rolling his ball into the side netting (28th). Marco Bizot then allowed his team to keep their advantage before the break by intervening in front of a volley from Rassoul Ndiaye before Casimir sent the ball over the bar (45th + 1).

Back from the locker room with good intentions, Le Havre quickly came back to score thanks to a splendid shot from the left in a touch from Kouzyaïev who found the left corner of Bizot (52nd). But the Bretons regained the advantage four minutes later with a point-blank header from Lilian Brassier following a corner (56th). Note the beautiful tap from Bizot on a long shot from Kechta (73rd). Logbo was not far from equalizing for Le Havre with a remarkable acrobatic return which ended above the bar (80th).

Reims-Clermont : 2-0

After their opening defeat at the Vélodrome (1-2), Will Still’s team scored their first points in Ligue 1 by taking over Clermont at the Stade Auguste-Delaune. With its rookies Nakamura, Ito and Diakité in attack, Reims had more control of the game, although Clermont was able to get a few chances, especially at the end of the first act.

The difference was made via a Reims corner deflected at the near post by Foket then put back in the axis by Richardson which allowed Munetsi to conclude quietly (1-0, 17th). Note a very nice reflex save from Yehvann Diouf on his line after Munetsi deflected the ball towards his goal following a corner (32nd). Coming on the hour mark, Damary scored his first goal with Reims late in the game, pushing the ball into the empty goal after good work from Ito (2-0, 84th). Clermont chained for its part a second defeat in two matches.
