On July 29 and 30, the Hachinohe City Takadate District Union Neighborhood Association (Chairman Hideo Morita) held the 1st Takadate CUP, a mini-basketball tournament for elementary school students, at the Takadate Municipal Gymnasium. . A total of 11 men’s and women’s teams in the city participated, and the children played energetically. Residents of the district will be in charge of running the tournament, and the neighborhood association hopes to help discover and develop human resources in the region.
In 2019, the youth club of the neighborhood association (director Atsushi Kawakami) launched the Takadate Club at the school, which has been running the club activities that used to be centered on the school. Currently, he is in charge of men’s and women’s basketball and music activities.
In order to continue to operate the club in a stable manner, Director Kawakami believes that it is necessary to increase the number of human resources in the youth division. and organized a competition.
Residents, mainly from the same youth group, were responsible for the preparations leading up to the event, the parking lot on the day of the event, and staff for setting up the venue. The first day was a league match, and the final day was a tournament for the winning teams.
Kawakami said, “I hope the parents who helped out will continue to help out even after their children graduate from school. If the tournament continues, we should be able to accumulate human resources. For the sake of the children, next year onwards.” I want to continue,” he said.
